Daily Creativity: Steampunk Dragon Rory

Steampunk Dragon Rory - Daily CreativityDaily Creativity: Steampunk Dragon Rory

A Steampunk Dragon you ask? I wanted to use my brown micron markers tonight, so I decided to draw something Steampunk. Rory is always a good subject so I thought, if Rory could build himself one thing in the steampunk world, what would it be? Steam wings of course. Originally I was going to only use ink, but when I finished outlining I wanted to paint it, but the paper I choose isn’t good for watercolors. So instead I used the right end of my colored pencils spectrum.

Daily Creativity: Elephants Running

Elephants Running for the Bronx ZooDaily Creativity: Elephants Running

Elephants running? I was inspired to draw this tonight because a few members of my family are running through The Bronx Zoo to raise money for animals. The animals selected are Elephants because they’re are cool and why not? I wish I could be running this race with my Mom, two sisters, and brother. Not because I love running, but because I love animals and how cool would it be to run a race through the zoo?

I really like how this came out, like the little sweat bands, and how the main elephant is holding a water bottle with her snout. I also really like the faces I made on them, and their little tusks are so cute.

Daily Creativity: Love Your Stretch Marks

Love your Stretch Marks! Love Your BodyDaily Creativity: Love Your Stretch Marks

Thanks to a discussion I had today about the idea of painting stretch marks with glitter as a new fashion trend, I was inspired to draw this. Another piece in the Love Your Body series.

Over the last few years I have learned to love my stretch marks. I have them and have had some since I was in grade school. For years I stopped looking at them and recently I’m noticing them again, but this time with affection. The marks on the small of my back look like vines growing up to my spine, and I think it’s gorgeous. I can’t really capture myself but I can be inspired by myself. This drawing is me, and so many other women. I’ve used pieces of myself and pieces of other to make this statement. I drew this using both my micron pens for the black and a quill with ink for the purple.

Daily Creativity: Deadpool & Rory – Deadrawr & Rawrpool!

Rory & Deadpool - Deadrawr & Rawrpool!Rory & Deadpool – Deadrawr & Rawrpool!

Tonight I saw Deadpool, but I started this before I even went to the movie. This movie was one of the most anticipated movies I’ve been to in a long time, and it paid off. I give the film 10/10, but don’t worry, I won’t spoil it. Instead I give you Rory dressed as Deadpool, and Deadpool dressed as Rory. They are almost Super Bros, but more like Rawr Bros.

Seriously though, if you’re over 18, go see this movie. Do not bring your kids, kids should not see this movie, and it’s not because of the sex (there’s a lot) or the nudity (oh yeah) but because of the violence and gore and irresponsible gun and swordplay. Though for grownups, all of those things make it a great movie.
