Daily Creativity: Love Your Body

Love Your BodyI did this painting on Friday (March 22nd) but am only able to post it today (March 24th).  This has been a busy past few days.  Just after putting a 44 page publication to bed CHSR (the campus & community radio station I volunteer at) is in the middle of their annual fundraising drive (FunDrive), and the first few events started.  It’s been crazy, but fun, I was hocking hot dogs out in the snow on Friday at passing college students, helping The Clockwork Doctor parade around the Farmer’s Market, and then went to an acoustic show that wasn’t my style until Josh Bravener took the stage and started doing some fun covers, and then I was dancing.  Add in two other social parties, recording two live shows, one on air (radio) and one live on youtube, helping clean out the station, baking (for two events), and yes, I have been quite busy.

On to the paining.  This is another love your body image, I liked the vague lines I drew with a pen so I just added some watercolor to the background to give it something more.  I like how it came out.  I like the peaceful look to it.  It looks like someone comfortable in their own skin, and isn’t that the goal?  The Dream?

Done on my iPad.

Daily Creativity: Pop Tek

Pop TekI haven’t done a pop art piece in a while and to get the rust off my style I decided to do a piece featuring one of my favorite people, Tek!  Tek is my husband, also known as The Clockwork Doctor, and he has wanted a pop art piece for longer than he should have waited.

I of course had to put a bang behind him, if you know Tek, you know why.  I like how this one came out, and considering the subject matter it’s no surprise why.

Daily Creativity: Dexter

DexterTonight I was supposed to record with the DexterCast. I have been looking forward to it for weeks, right smack dab in the middle of a super busy work week (44 page publication) and fundraising for my volunteer gig.  Still, I was looking forward to it.  Sadly, today work exploded and I finally was able to finish for the day and start cooking supper when my alarm went off to record with the DexterCast.  Not only had I forgotten, but I didn’t even watch the episode like I had planned to.  I feel like scum.

So as an apology to the whole crew of the podcast I drew a little Dexter card for them.  Sharpies on paper (message is a font added later).

Daily Creativity: Fire Lady

fire-lady_smI’ve painted another figure on my iPad, I really like the color palate and how she just jumps out of the page.  I like the fiery colors, and her hair.  I often have trouble with curly hair but I got her hair really good this time (thanks to painting on the iPad and not with actual paints, I could undo several times.)
