Nutty Bites 111: Intro to Ghibli – Nausicaä of the Valley of the Wind
Nausicaä of the Valley of the Wind is coming a bit out of order thanks to it being shown locally at the theatre. We couldn’t pass up the chance to see it on the big screen with an audience. Originally we had planned to watch all of the Miyazaki Ghibli movies first, move on to Takahata, then watch non Takahata/Miyazaki Ghibli movies, and then go back to Miyazaki’s non Ghibli movies. The chance to see the movies in theatre made us rework the viewing order. We also realized that we didn’t want to have a bunch of sad movies together, so we reworked the order. Mostly in release order, except when we needed to put an uplifting film between two sad ones. There is a link below.
We also clarified our rating system since some listeners were confused by our ratings. This should make our ratings a bit more clear and less insulting to some. (Though I am still insulted at Jason’s Whisper of the Heart rating).
