Daily Creativity: Sleeping TekType

A sleeping TekType in his natural habitat Tonight I lay next to my husband as he slept and sketched him, then I painted it.  I just loved how he looked laying there.  The green of his clothes mixing with the green sheets, pillow cases and duvet gave the tableau a very soft feel, it’s what pulled me to pick up a pencil.  I chose watercolor to make the painting as soft as I could.

This comes on a fitting day, as I post this it is July 4th, 2013.  My husband and I met for the first time face to face 11 years ago today.  We had known each other for about five years before then but we grew closer in the year before meeting.  Not to sound sappy, but it was the best fourth of july fireworks ever, and I had to go to Canada for them.

OctoberlogoresizefinalHugh and Pat from the Way of the Buffalo podcast interviewed Nuchtchas and Tek.  It was a lot of fun for us, but also the first interview with Hugh’s new co-host Pat.  I am really digging the new format, after you listen to this episode, go to his site and listen to the following interviews.  They get some pretty big names and these interviews are fun and feel more like chats.

New Nutty Bites Promo!

NuttyBitesLogo1400I’ve been meaning to throw together a new promo, but how could I top the last one?  Granted the old promo only reflects what I now refer to as the talky episodes of Nutty Bites, and doesn’t reflect what the show has grown into, a debate platform.  Yes, I use the term debate loosely, but it’s what we do right?  We get geeks to call in and discuss things having to do with speculative fiction and geek life.  Hopefully this promo does it justice.
