Daily Creativity: Doodle – Fat is not a 4 letter word

fat4letterdoodle3/14/2014
This is more of a doodle than anything else, but it’s a statement I say a lot.  Fat is not a 4 letter word.  It’s not an insult, it’s just a descriptor.  I don’t let the word fat hurt me because it is what I am, and I’m ok with that.  I don’t need to deny it, fat does not mean ugly, mean, or wrong, it just means fat.

Daily Creativity: Love Your Body – Legs!

I was much too tired to upload this last night.

Legs, part of the Love Your Body series but focusing on legs.  Inspired by this photo on tumblr. I just love the abstract shapes that I saw in this study.  The way the light hit the curves.  This is another painting on my iPad via ArtRage.

Daily Creativity: Real Life Ursula

Today’s piece is inspired by Lieutenant Cookies, she posted a photo of herself and indeed is the real life embodiment of Ursula, so of course I had to paint that.  Isn’t she just awesome?

I painted this on my iPad using ArtRage, I had a lot of fun mixing up the thickness of paints.

Another Love Your Body study, I looked for a photo that would have some different proportions from my other models in this series. I used the waster color settings on my iPad (in ArtRage, this app replicates traditional tools better than anything out there IMO) and it makes me wish I had layers when painting on my watercolor block. I may turn this into a physical watercolor, I’m not sure yet. Still, I’m liking this, I think my favorite part is her tummy. iPad painting.

I think I may be getting too comfortable with the Love Your Body pictures, but they make me feel good and I love drawing them. This is another photo I had saved from a long time ago, so if you recognize it let me know so I can credit.

Original Photo Source here.

In case you can’t tell, I don’t like using representational color, I love making figures different colors to evoke the mood I feel from them.

This is pencil, colored pencils, and outline in ink on paper.
