Daily Creativity: LuLuBizou

LuLu Bizou Super Hero Amazon Woman and now PatronFor my Third Patron¹ I have not just drawn her but turned her into a super hero.  This is how I see the fantastic, amazon, exciting, happy, bubbly, enthusiastic @LuLuBizou :)  I hope she likes it.

I especially like her fiery hair and how she is flexing.  I also love how I have her holding her arms.

If you don’t know who LuLu is, she is the woman who does the sultry bumpers for my Nutty Bites Podcast, and reads the intro in french.  She is a Quebecer geek who I met at Balticon 45 (last year) and became fast friends with over the year.  She is a super fan, and a great supporter so posing her as a super hero works for me.  Oh and did I mention she adores Rory?  That helps get you good in my book too.  She has been so generous to help contribute to my artistic efforts, I now have a portfolio for those water colors I have been painting, which is good because they have been beginning to curl.

Thank you LuLu! <3

1 My Patrons are people who help me buy supplies for my art or other things to help me along.  I don’t ask for donations but will accept gifts in the way of supplies.  This allows people to give a little in monetary and help support my arts.  You can find my amazon wishlist on the right hand side of this page.

Daily Creativity & Thankful Thursday: Colorado Joe

This thursday I am thankful for Colorado Joe (aka @jmctee on twitter) not only is he a great guy who keeps the conversation going but he is also a contributor to the FlashCasts for FlashPulp.com
He is the first (I think) to earn his own theme song, which is awesome and I want a full song version, on flash pulp. He is a major Flash Mob member and a supporter of many projects.  (and he is a bitstripper)

I have enjoyed his support in my Daily Creativity project, he always looks to see what I have made and comments at times (I know he views them all because he favorites my tweets I’m sure so he can look at it later) and it warms my heart to know that someone cares about my work so much.

A few weeks ago I created an Amazon Wish list for art supplies with the idea that if people wanted to support me with more than RTs they could help resupply me. Joe is the first to do so, and my first ever official patron! (outside of family members and my husband buying me supplies over the years, always thanks to them) but now I have an official patron and that gives Joe bragging rights. More than that though, with his contribution I feel validated, I feel like I am doing something worth while. I feel more fulfilled, and I find it hard not to gush “You like me, you really like me,” when I think about it.

So thank you Joe, and Joe, I’m thankful for you.

As for the Art, this is a Signature Nutty Pop Art, the first that I wasn’t asked to do and chose to do simply to surprise him. I hope you like it Joe.

Art Re-Supply

I don’t ask for personal donations, not for the podcast, not for my art or anything I create on this site.  Actually, if someone wanted to donate to me I would direct them to one of the many projects I wish I had more funds to support and donate to.

Today I am not asking for donations per say, and this is not a plea for help, but… if someone out there wanted to help me in any way, the best way would be to buy art supplies for me.  I’m always in need of new stuff and have been rapidly replacing a lot of things.  I can’t tell you how much I have spend in the last two years or so on new brushes, new paints, new canvas and stretchers.  Pencils, pastels, pads, sketchbooks, portfolio and carrying cases, you name it.  A lot of my stuff is over fifteen years old and either at it’s end or dried up.

I replaced most of what I need, as I work I’m going through some consumables and it would be nice to have some resupply.  I’m not at the moment of running out and buying some more, simply because I am making due with some of the older stuff (like a watercolor block with a big ink stain on one side that bleed through all of the pages, I cut off the end of the paper.)

I have set up an Amazon Wish List of some of the more inexpensive items that I will be needing soon.  If someone wanted to buy me something from that, that would be cool.  You could think think of yourself as one of my patrons :)

Can you tell I don’t like asking for things?
Also, if anyone knows of a better site to set up a wishlist or something easier (or in Canada) please let me know.  So far as I have found mail order art supplies are pretty limited (I also wish NB had a Pearl Paint or even a DeSerrs.)
