I’m not so sure about Canada being so vampire-unfriendly.  I remember a Mexican wrestler called Vampiro Canadiense, so at least they thought that Canadain vampires existed.  More importantly, I have only been to few Canadian cities, but from what I remember of Toronto, there was a huge underground system of tunnels where you could walk for miles without having to come up to street level – pretty much heaven for vampires (and of course not much sunshine in the winter).
