Nutty Bites 246: HACKING THE 2000 YEAR OLD COMPUTER: Open Antikythera with Marc and James of S&T Geotronics

Nutty Bites 246: HACKING THE 2000 YEAR OLD COMPUTER: Open Antikythera with Marc and James of S&T Geotronics S&T Geotronics are at it again. In this episode of Nutty Bites James Sanderson and Marc Tessier explain the Open Antikythera project to Nutty and Tek.  The Open Antikythera kickstarter will go live at the end of July, but you get to hear about it here first. It’s always great to virtually visit Marc and James in the shop and learn about their projects, the process, and how they support the maker community. What we really love is how they use new tools to take us back in time to learn some technical history, and this time, we are going back 2000 years to hack Archimedes’s computer.

Nutty Bites 244: Across the Spiderverse – Dinner and a Movie

Nutty Bites 244: Across the Spiderverse - Dinner and a MovieThe much anticipated movie Across the Spiderverse deserved it’s own full length Dinner and a Movie episode. The first film Into the Spiderverse was groundbreaking and one of the best superhero movies of all time, and by far the best Spiderman movie of all time (as previously stated on this podcast) This new movie pushes that boundary even more. In a year with a glaringly high number of multiverse movies this one pushes that envelope a little more. The spiderverse films show how you can be inclusive and not exploitive about your inclusion. How you can tell a rich story while respecting the different experiences of the viewers. It’s movies like this that make you realize we can do all the things we say we want to do, we can if we remember that storytelling is and artform. Nutty, Tek, Jason, and Vox are all in on this Dinner and a Movie episode and we want to know what your thoughts were too.
