A wordle. I do wordle. You too. You do wordle too

Facebook has that new timeline nonsense, so of course I had to try it out.  I have to try everything out, didn’t you know that?  Right, so when making my timeline I needed a cover image, like a big banner that you have almost no control over (Big shock, facebook is limiting our control over something and then claiming it’s a feature, big fun) and at first I had my beloved cougar Jaspurr as the cover, but then I decided to change it to a wordle I made of this site’s RSS feed.  Don’t know what a wordle is?  Well click the image and it will take you there (While you’re at it, click the stop censorship bar and make your voice heard about how you think SOPA is just plain wrong), you can make it from anything with a RSS or ATOM feed, I learned all about this years ago from @smoran8m and I use it all the time when I want something interesting but nonspecific (I also use tagxedo for more options and importing a document)

Daily Creativity: Tek and Rory as Calvin and Hobbes

Rory and Tek as Calvin and Hobbes
I’m finding I really like watercolors, yes I knew I liked them, but it’s been so long since I’ve used them. I’m having a lot of fun with this, found some of my older, better brushes too, that helps tremendously. While I think I got the right face for the Tek-Hobbes I think it’s too much Hobbes and not enough Tek. It’s hard taking a human, without any signature features other than a buzz cut and turning him into a tiger. Making the Calvin-Rory was a lot easier, the spineidies are a big Rory trait, the brown eyes and fangs and well he’s green.

I think I might use this style of painting (not the Calvin and Hobbes, but the painting style) when I illustrate the Rory goes to the Dentist book idea I’ve been thinking about.

Super Mainframe! The result of my Dragon*Cant Pop Art Tutorial

Mainframe as Pop Art
“Half man, half cartoon, all geek.”

For my panel at Dragon*Cant I showed how I make the pop art that I’m becoming known for.  What better subject then Mainframe? (It worked out well that he was next in line)  Because he’s wearing his GeekOut With Mainframe logo Tee Shirt I decided to go full on and throw a cape on him as well.
