Daily Creativity: Who’s that lady? (more pop art)

Sunrise Robin as Pop Art
Another Pop Art piece, I have quite a few requests and I am still spacing them out, so if you asked, and sent me a photo, it will arrive eventually, I have not forgotten.

Today’s subject is @sunriserobin she is a fangirl extraordinair and even runs the blog http://www.fangirlconfessions.com and a HUGE Whovian.

You can also find her on flickr or tumblr or other sites posting pictures of her cats, cupcakes or other interesting tidbits she finds along her travels.

Daily Creativity: Nobilis as Pop Art

Nobilis Reed as Pop Art
I started something when I did my Pop Art for other people.  First I did Robin, then Viv asked for me to do her, then the requests rolled in.  I’m spacing them out, but you can expect to see more of this :)

I really do love doing this, it’s weird to explain why, I’m not even sure I can say why.

First I draw the subject in flat color, then I add details, put some nifty graphic background, then I make the original image all newsprinty, and overlay it.

Today’s subject is Nobilis Reed, author, podcaster and all around good guy.  I can’t wait for my yearly meet up with Mr. Reed at Balticon, and hopefully some book tour stops for our author friends.

Daily Creativity: Pop, it’s Viv!

Vivid Muse as Pop Art
A little while ago I did my pop art thing on a picture of a friend of mine named Robin and my friend Viv loved it so much she wanted one.  So I asked her to pick a photo and I did that for her today as my daily art project.

This is something that I have been doing since art school, way back in the early days of photoshop 3.0, but back then it didn’t look nearly as good as it does now :)

PS: I love my friends for being willing and unwilling subjects for me.  Sometimes I ask, sometimes I don’t and I have yet to hear a complaint, you guys rock

Robin as Pop Art
Tonight’s Art Project was not done by hand per say, but I drew it in photoshop based on a photo of my friend Robin (Who rocks FYI) and I was going for a Pop Art, Roy Liechtenstein sort of fee.  I felt like doing my Pop Art thing so I did it.  I have to say, I love this.  I could actually see this blown up on my wall somewhere.
