Christopher Robin is a movie that brings me joy. It’s comfort food in movie form, and I think we all need a little bit of comfort today.

I love iZombie so much that I have talked about it before, but now the series is done. I have given a quick spoiler free review of the entire series and what it means to me. If you want in depth coverage with interviews with cast, writers, crew, and the show creators, make sure to check out the iZombie Podcast with Robin and Steph.

I loved the Carmen Sandiego game and show when I was growing up. I was so excited to see this series get the serious treatment that Netflix gave it. It did not disappoint. In this series we get a back story and a reason to care about the characters. We get awesome talent in the roles, which is par for the course for this franchise. (former cast held a tony and an egot) If you are into animation and nostalgia, watch this. It’s great because you can watch it with anyone of any age.

Nutty Bites: Trinkets – Dinner and a Movie – Dog Days of Podcasting 2019
If you know me, you know I love a good teen drama, and Trinkets is no exception. This show follows some shoplifting teens as they deal with loss and other pressures. It will give you a lot of feels but I really dug it. I cared a lot about these characters and I really hope there is a season 2.

Nutty Bites: To All the Boys I’ve Loved Before – Dinner and a Movie – Dog Days of Podcasting 2018
To All the Boys I’ve Loved is a Netflix teen movie that I really enjoyed. It’s fluff but I like fluff. Sometimes you just need a teen movie to kick back and veg to. I thought from the trailer the main character was adopted. That’s what got me watching only to find it was a mixed race family, also cool. I get excited by adopted families on TV because I have two adopted brothers. It’s something that seems pretty rare on TV, and when it is done, it is often bad.
Update! Wait a second, THIS is the movie I heard about where the author refused to sign off on any adaptation where the main character was played by a non asian! This was huge! I’m so happy that the movie I had read about was good! Many execs said that the race shouldn’t matter when casting and the author said if that is the case then cast an asian. The character is Korean-American, and while it is not the main topic of the movie, it is essential to the character. Wow! I’m so excited now. You can read more by an avid fan of the book.
I’m going to miss Dog Days of Podcasting. I love having all of these familiar voices in my ears. I count all of these podcasters as my friends and many of them go silent over the rest of the year. Till next August I suppose.
I’ve been thinking and praying a lot about my friend Scott Pond lately and especially today. You can find out more about his struggle here. #PondyStrong #TeamPondy
