Who knows where ideas come from, they just appear. I had fun with this, though I must admit my fingers are all covered in graphite. I didn’t smooth the lines because I was enjoying the texture they gave.

I was going for a thing, inspired by this video I played with the extreme shadows

A self portrait, my face looks a bit short but following the photo I used it seems to be close. I had a hard time with my teeth, simply because they looked so monstrous sketched.

I think I choose to do a self portrait and from this photo simply because I just had to dye my hair for work. See for the last year I have had a stripe of color in the front of my hair, changing from Red to Green to Purple to Blue depending on my mood :) Well, for about 80% of the time I had a color, when having to work on site I would slap some light brown over it, or a nice honey color. This time I picked a color that after the dying process I realized is as close to my natural color as I could get (who knew I was a ‘pomegranate créme’ :) and when I looked into the mirror all I could think is that I didn’t really recognize myself. I looked different or wrong, which is funny since I lived most of my life with all brown hair, and just one year with the strip. Sadly, I miss my strip. It is a rince, so the brown will go away, but until the summer I will have to keep it up as I have a lot of on site work :(

I did this last night, but only got it uploaded today, so there will be another one for today, later :) Now in the meantime I have a lot of actual paying work to do

In honor of HP Lovecraft’s birthday coming up I drew this. Not overly cute like a certain podcast host we know (and who has swallowed my soul) and not overly grim or slimy like an old RPG sourcebook.

I had fun drawing it. Thanks @brandg for the inspiration today.

So something made me think of Pookie Chang tonight, and while I don’t normally do fan art I felt like drawing our favorite cops from the book Nocturnal, by Scott Sigler. Pookie isn’t quite what I picture in my head, but close. Oddly, Bryan doesn’t have a fixed image in my head, he is rather generic in my head :)

Don’t give me grief about the guns, I made them nondescript on purpose, this is not a drawing about guns, if I want to get that accurate it would take me a very long time in the basement ;)

And no, I do not know why Pookie’s jacket seems to be blowing in all directions… perhaps I was trying to make it capelike?

(oh and FYI @thescifishow this was the drawing i thought would be badass. I don’t think I effed it up, but it isn’t nearly as badass as I had hoped)
