Daily Creativity: Pop, it’s Viv!

Vivid Muse as Pop Art
A little while ago I did my pop art thing on a picture of a friend of mine named Robin and my friend Viv loved it so much she wanted one.  So I asked her to pick a photo and I did that for her today as my daily art project.

This is something that I have been doing since art school, way back in the early days of photoshop 3.0, but back then it didn’t look nearly as good as it does now :)

PS: I love my friends for being willing and unwilling subjects for me.  Sometimes I ask, sometimes I don’t and I have yet to hear a complaint, you guys rock

Daily Creativity: A Whisper of home

A Whisper of home - An Egret drawn with colored pencilsWhen I think of an Egret, I think of my Mom, my Mom and her best friend FV. I drew this today because as I sat down to draw today I saw a hat, with the logo of their boat that I designed over a decade ago, out of the corner of my eye… so I free handed and Egret. Living in Canada I miss them both, so this was nice to draw today.

It might be hard to see in the scan, but the Egret is silver and the beak and feet is gold.

Daily Creativity: And now for some color, with Kermit (Kermit as Che)

Kermit as Che Guvera

It came from a joke, not sure how it started, we were up WAY too late and somehow I got it into my head to draw kermit as Che Guevara.  Kermit is always awesome, as all Muppets are, Che, well he’s a symbol some people think of when they think revolution, and his image is something hipsters wear to try and impress on others that they are edgy and counter culture.  For some reason the mashup of these two icons amused me to no end.

I do remember saying “You don’t understand man!  Kermit was there, Man!  He was there in the swamp, he made that rek to Hollywood, he took Manhattan, he was there man!”

Ahhh late night fun.

(EDIT: I changed the posting time cause I can do that :P)
