Daily Creativity: Kotegaeshi Hands
Today I feel like I did the best Kotegaeshi throw I have ever done in aikido. So I was inspired for tonights painting. This throw is a little more complicated because uke (my partner) needs to do a jumping front breakfall (they have to roll without the use of their arms, and I have to give uke enough energy so they can do this. Not only did I do my jumps pretty nice when uke, but my throw really sent the energy from the hands to the elbow to the shoulder to the hips and launched my partner.
As for the art side, drawing and painting hands can be complicated, especially when they are in a complicated pose. I’m pretty pleased with how this came out. I wanted to use one color to not distract too much from the hands study.
