Nutty Bites: What We Do In The Shadows – Dinner and a Movie – Dog Days of Podcasting 2017

What We Do In The Shadows is one of the best mocumentaries you will ever see. Granted I have a special place in my heart for mocumentaries, but this one just blows me away. I can watch it over and over again and it never gets old. I paired this with a virgin sandwich, because when you eat a sandwich, you’d prefer that no one had F***ed it.

Nutty Bites: Keeping Up With the Joneses – Dinner and a Movie – Dog Days of Podcasting 2017

Keeping up with the Joneses was a surprise to me. I didn’t think I was going to like this movie but it was pretty fun to watch. I love the trope of breaking suburbia, which I tried to look up on tv tropes, but couldn’t find one, yet I know this is a thing, because I love watching things with this trope. I paired this with sushi because while I would totally try eating snake, I don’t see myself making a habit of it. Spoiler, there is a snake restaurant they go to.

My enjoyment of Brooklyn 99 is high considering I don’t normally like sitcoms. It is a show that gives example of how you don’t need to mock people to have funny jokes. How a diverse cast makes a show better. How smart and silly a show can be at the same time. I paired this with nachos.

Nutty Bites: Dirk Gently – Dinner and a Movie – Dog Days of Podcasting 2017

I love the Dirk Gently books so of course I love the Netflix series based on those characters. What makes this such a good series is that they didn’t adapt any of the books but made a new story. The characters, casting, acting, writing, production, everything, is amazingly good. I paired this with some pulled pork chili.

Nutty Bites: The Man From U.N.C.L.E. – Dinner and a Movie – Dog Days of Podcasting 2017

Surprisingly, The Man From U.N.C.L.E. is a really fun film. I was impressed and enjoyed myself the whole time. We kept comparing the references to Archer, seeing how much the original show was an influence. I was also surprised by Henry Cavill’s acting, in a good way. Loved the cast, loved the filming, loved the music, loved the cars, loved the costumes. So much fun. I paired this with some chicken curry and chips, because that’s what I made tonight. I also blab a little bit about aikido.
