The Search for General Tso is a documentary about food and culture. What is this dish and how did Chinese food spread through north america? How do you pronounce Tso anyway? I talk a bit about my weekend training in Aikido. Not too much about the food because of course we are making the very famous chicken.

Nutty Bites: Jane the Virgin – Dinner and a Movie – Dog Days of Podcasting 2017

Jane the Virgin is the perfect fit for anyone that loves telenovelas. Even if you don’t, there is enough meta fun to keep you entertained. This is a show that is worth binge watching and not as good if you watch it weekly. While it is being released to netflix as fast as it is to air, I’d delay my watching to enjoy it more. Not sure that helps with ratings, but since netflix doesn’t share numbers, I don’t think you are hurting the show much by waiting to bing. This is paired of course with a delicious grilled cheese sandwich.

Nutty Bites: Freaks and Geeks – Dinner and a Movie – Dog Days of Podcasting 2017

Freaks and Geeks was a great short lived show. I missed it while it was on and I don’t think it got the backing that it should have while it was on the air. The talent on that show is astounding, between the writing, directing, and the acting. It makes me scream that we didn’t even get a full season, but I’m so happy we got what we did. I paired this with the plate licking good salmon I made for lunch. (recorded earlier in the week.)

Nutty Bites: GLOW (The Gorgeous Ladies of Wrestling) – Dinner and a Movie – Dog Days of Podcasting 2017

I missed GLOW (The Gorgeous Ladies of Wrestling) back in the 80s, but I didn’t miss this Netflix series or the documentary that inspired it, also available on Netflix. This is a two for one episode. The show has a more feminist spin than the reality of the situation but I think that makes for better viewing today. I paired this with meat on a stick, because that way you can cheer and eat at the same time.

Netflix’s Santa Clarita Diet at first looked like something I wouldn’t be into, but once I saw it was zombie related I check it out. Another example of breaking suburbia this show will give you lots of funny scenes and silly gore scenes that is absurd enough to keep you coming back.
