Nutty Bites – Con Man & Greek Yogurt w/Granola – Dog Days of Podcasting

Nutty Bites Dog Days of Podcasting Dinner & a movie Con ManCon Man & Greek Yogurt w/Granola – Spoiler Free!

I backed Con Man on Kickstarter eons ago and only just watched it. It’s all in jokes and geek jokes which is fun but also with some seriously true scenes. I watched it on Vimeo because I backed it, I know it’s available on itunes too. Season2 is supposed to air on ComicCon HQ, that doesn’t make me too happy. I paired it with something I think Hollywoo types like to eat, greek yogurt and granola.

Nutty Bites Dog Days of Podcasting Dinner & a movie Deep Space 9Star Trek Deep Space 9 & Sushi – Spoiler Free!

Star Trek Deep Space 9 is working it’s way into my favorite of the Trek properties. Thankfully all of Star Trek is now available on Netflix. On rewatch I realize how good it is right from the very beginning. The characters are fully formed and awesome from the get go. The first season has seeds of the future seasons are laid through out. I’m looking forward to Star Trek Discovery. I pair this with sushi because thats what I had for my birthday today. I also talk a little bit about it being Nutty Day.

Nutty Bites – Being Erica & Poutine – Dog Days of Podcasting

Nutty Bites Dog Days of Podcasting Dinner & a movie Being EricaBeing Erica & Poutine – Spoiler Free!

Being Erica is a purely Canadian TV show available on Canadian Netflix. It deals with alternate realities, life choices, and a fun form of therapy. I pair this with a classic Canadian dish, Poutine.  mmmmm poutine.

I babble a little bit about how romantic relationships are a sign of success and how they aren’t a way to measure life at all. You also get to listen to me run into a detour while I’m driving.

Black Books is a TV series from England that I fell in love with this year. It is available on Netflix (Canada at least) so it is easy to view. I review it in a spoiler free manner and pair it with tea and biscuits. I recorded this in the car so you get the sounds of the road.

Nutty Bites – Cooking with Nuchtchas – Dog Days of Podcasting

Nutty Bites Dog Days of Podcasting Dinner & a movie FarscapeCooking with Nuchtchas!

Cooking with Nuchtchas, Chicken Cordon Bleu. The neat thing about the Dog Days of Podcasting is that it lets you experiment and break up the format. A few other podcasters in pervious years recording themselves cooking, I’m pretty sure this was started by Michael Butler. Cooking with Butler is a seldom regular segment on the Rock and Roll Geek show, and I always love listening to it, so I thought I’d try it out myself.

I made chicken cordon bleu with some changes, like no breadcrumbs and using skinless boneless thighs instead of breasts. It was a success, I will be making that again.

Ingredients:

  • boneless/skinless thighs
  • jarlsberg swiss cheese
  • ham
  • corn flour
  • spices
  • sea salt and cracked pepper
  1. Mix corn flour with spices, sea salt, and cracked pepper and put in a bag.
  2. Tenderize thighs
  3. Dust chicken by putting in the bag and shaking it up
  4. Cut jarlsberg into appropriate size chunks for the size of your thighs
  5. Wrap cheese in ham
  6. Wrap ham and cheese in chicken thigh
  7. Place chicken on a lightly greased baking pan
  8. Bake at 350ish for 20minutes

I ended up pairing it with Flying Monkeys 12 minutes to destiny, and then recorded a Beer of the Moment for Chiaki
