This is just a doodle I did with some fine point sharpies. Abstract trees that are stylized. I’d like to get some nice blending markers. I think that would open up these sorts of illustrations.

Nutty Bites 45: Balticon LIVE Nutty Debate, Terry Pratchett Vs Douglas Adams

This year at Balticon I was able to host a LIVE panel of Nutty Bites, we debated who was the better satirical specfic author, Terry Pratchett or Douglas Adams. All of the panelists has a love for both authors so it was the kindest most canadian debate you may hear.

Daily Creativity: Sleeping TekType

Tonight I lay next to my husband as he slept and sketched him, then I painted it. I just loved how he looked laying there. The green of his clothes mixing with the green sheets, pillow cases and duvet gave the tableau a very soft feel, it’s what pulled me to pick up a pencil. I chose watercolor to make the painting as soft as I could.

This comes on a fitting day, as I post this it is July 4th, 2013. My husband and I met for the first time face to face 11 years ago today. We had known each other for about five years before then but we grew closer in the year before meeting. Not to sound sappy, but it was the best fourth of july fireworks ever, and I had to go to Canada for them.

They get some pretty big names and these interviews are fun and feel more like chats.
