Nutty Bites: Rebellion – Dinner and a Movie – Dog Days of Podcasting 2018
Rebellion I thought was a Netflix series but now I see is a Sundance TV show. This may have been simultaneously released on Netflix Canada at the same time, so there was a partnership. I could be wrong though, don’t quote me on it. This miniseries was enjoyable, but note that there are a lot of differences from what actually happened and what they used to tell a dramatic tale. I highly encourage you to look up the actual history or listen to the Stuff You Missed in History Class episode(s) about the Easter Rising.
I’ve been thinking and praying a lot about my friend Scott Pond lately and especially today. You can find out more about his struggle here. #PondyStrong #TeamPondy

Deep fried Mars bars!! I have never ventured so brave. I’ll give Rebellion a go. I studied the rising at college. The leaders were all fascinating and diverse figures. Their arms dealer Sir Roger Casement was a leading humanitarian of his day, and even pops up in the Trebitsch Lincoln story. If you can stand unsettling Irish conflict films, see Bloody Sunday (2002?) based on the rising of the 60s/70s, directed by Paul Greengrass, with James Nesbitt in the lead. It’s a tear jerker that explains much about The Troubles.
I’ve seen it! and I agree. We aren’t taught Irish history in north america much but thanks to my family I have a bit of an interest in it. I really thought they handled Rebellion well, even though it is clear they distorted things to tell a dramatic tale.
Be brave, try the Mars Bar!
