If you listened to the first Nutty Border Battles (Nutty Border Crossing?) you heard Tek and I talk about how Remembrance day is observed in Canada with school children reciting the poem “Flanders Fields”
Skinner Co. who produce Flash Pulp got their crew to do a recording for us for this day.
I plan to put a full Nutty Border Crossing on this topic but haven’t recorded all of the audio yet.
IN FLANDERS FIELDS POEM
By Lieutenant Colonel John McCrae
In Flanders fields the poppies blow
Between the crosses, row on row,
That mark our place: and in the sky
The larks still bravely singing fly
Scarce heard amid the guns below.
We are the dead: Short days ago,
We lived, felt dawn, saw sunset glow,
Loved and were loved: and now we lie
In Flanders fields!
Take up our quarrel with the foe
To you, from failing hands, we throw
The torch: be yours to hold it high
If ye break faith with us who die,
We shall not sleep, though poppies grow
In Flanders fields

Leave a comment of thanks for American troops – in order for them to be given a book to read. And you will receive an e-book as well. It’s called Blog Tour for the Troops. Various blogs (50 of them – or maybe 50 per day) are taking part until the 14th. Go here for more info: http://indiebookcollective.wordpress.com/
