The Store is Open!

Store Page

If you follow the above link you will find the “Store Page.”  What is this store page?  Well a lot of people have been asking me to buy prints of my art and many have asked for one illustration to be made into a tee-shirt, the image to the right is that illustration, titled “Rock Lobster.”

Now the store just has a few items, and yes for now it is just a page on my blog, but I have been so busy I have not had the time to get down and dirty into designing an online storefront.  Heck I have not even designed the new site for my business, it has been over a year and the page still says coming soon.  I have been working on paying work mostly, and working on my fine art. Yet with the coming of Con season and having booked my flights and car for Balticon I figured I had better get this store thing rolling.

Another reason this store has taken so long to create is I wanted to make sure if I was selling anything it would be high quality.  I refuse to sell anything cheap, anyone can print on nice paper with their ink jet, but to charge for that would just be immoral in my opinion.  All of the prints in the store are done with archival ink on high quality paper or canvas.  I order from a gallery professional dealer and have ordered several samples myself to be sure that what you order is as close to the original as can be.  Also, the tee shirts, I have made sure that the quality is good, I hate ordering shirts online only to have them iron on transfers that I could have made at home.  This is not the case here.  The tee-shirt vendor I use prints so the ink is in the cotton, I have run the sample shirt through the dryer a few times to be sure.  So yeah, I have probably spent a bit more then most would on test prints and samples but I feel it is well worth it for the customer.  As of now I am in the red in this project, hopefully I will earn the money back soon and can use this store to support my fine art endeavors.  Paints and canvas are pricier then you might think, not that anything has stopped me from buying them so far.

So I mentioned Balticon, yes, I will be going to Balticon this year.  As an added incentive to people to go to Balticon if you purchase anything from me and bring it with you to Balticon I will sign it and put a special message on it somewhere just for you. (and no Jerry, I am not charging for this :)
