Tonight I lay next to my husband as he slept and sketched him, then I painted it.  I just loved how he looked laying there.  The green of his clothes mixing with the green sheets, pillow cases and duvet gave the tableau a very soft feel, it’s what pulled me to pick up a pencil.  I chose watercolor to make the painting as soft as I could.

This comes on a fitting day, as I post this it is July 4th, 2013.  My husband and I met for the first time face to face 11 years ago today.  We had known each other for about five years before then but we grew closer in the year before meeting.  Not to sound sappy, but it was the best fourth of july fireworks ever, and I had to go to Canada for them.
