Nutty Bites: Brooklyn 99 – Dinner and a Movie – Dog Days of Podcasting 2017

Nutty Bites: Brooklyn 99 - Dinner and a Movie - Dog Days of Podcasting 2017My enjoyment of Brooklyn 99 is high considering I don’t normally like sitcoms. It is a show that gives example of how you don’t need to mock people to have funny jokes. How a diverse cast makes a show better. How smart and silly a show can be at the same time. I paired this with nachos.

Nutty Bites: Dirk Gently – Dinner and a Movie – Dog Days of Podcasting 2017

Nutty Bites: Dirk Gently – Dinner and a Movie – Dog Days of Podcasting 2017

Nutty Bites: Dirk Gently - Dinner and a Movie - Dog Days of Podcasting 2017I love the Dirk Gently books so of course I love the Netflix series based on those characters. What makes this such a good series is that they didn’t adapt any of the books but made a new story. The characters, casting, acting, writing, production, everything, is amazingly good. I paired this with some pulled pork chili.

Nutty Bites: The Man From U.N.C.L.E. – Dinner and a Movie – Dog Days of Podcasting 2017

Surprisingly, The Man From U.N.C.L.E. is a really fun film. I was impressed and enjoyed myself the whole time. We kept comparing the references to Archer, seeing how much the original show was an influence. I was also surprised by Henry Cavill’s acting, in a good way. Loved the cast, loved the filming, loved the music, loved the cars, loved the costumes. So much fun. I paired this with some chicken curry and chips, because that’s what I made tonight. I also blab a little bit about aikido.

Tonight's super, chicken curry and chips. The latest trick is a bit of cream in the curry.

Tonight Tek and I saw Spiderman, Homecoming, and he joined me on this episode to talk about it. I am seriously surprised at how much I liked this movie. It proves things I have been saying about comic book movies for a long time. Skip the origin stories for characters we all know. Find the fun! Diverse casting is good casting!  Pair this movie with a nice deli sandwich with EXTRA pickles!

iZombie grabbed me so hard in binge watching that I was a sure I have been watching for years. I haven’t, I just discovered it this year. I’m loving it. You should too, enjoy it with some Pad Thai with peanut satay sauce and top it off with some nice Spicy Sriracha sauce. Also make sure to check out the iZombie Podcast with Robin and Steph.
