Nutty Bites: Anne With an E – Dinner and a Movie – Dog Days of Podcasting 2018

Nutty Bites: Anne With an E – Dinner and a Movie – Dog Days of Podcasting 2018

Nutty Bites: Anne With an E – Dinner and a Movie – Dog Days of Podcasting 2018Anne With an E is a new and old Canadian staple. A remake of a classic show based on a classic book, Anne of Green Gables by Lucy Maud Montgomery. It’s a co production between Netflix and the CBC. This reimagining of the orphan from Prince Edward Island has me in love. I laugh and cry along with the characters. Also, the actor playing Matthew was a regular on Road to Avonlea, which is another Canadian classic show set in the same location. There is so much Canadian culture in this show I just adore it. Also I love the stories about her adoptive parents and how it reflects the needs and emotions of older people. Plus there is a some serious diversity in this period drama and they don’t shy away from realistic reactions. Still, the characters you love see the goodness in the world and when face to face with people who are different are much more accepting than one imagines for the setting.

Nutty Bites: Bob’s Burgers – Dinner and a Movie – Dog Days of Podcasting 2018

Nutty Bites: Bob’s Burgers – Dinner and a Movie – Dog Days of Podcasting 2018

Nutty Bites: Bob's Burgers – Dinner and a Movie – Dog Days of Podcasting 2018I love Bob’s Burgers, it was the one show I missed when we cut the cord seven years ago. Finally it landed on Canada Netflix, Tek and I watched every episode produced to date and we are in love. It’s such a great series. Focusing on the love that can blossom in a family, openness and acceptance. You likely can guess what I paired with this show.

Everything Sucks is a Netflix series that I really enjoyed and am super bummed that they won’t be making a season 2 of. It had a great soundtrack that you can listen to on Spotify. This show made me remember what it felt like to be a teen, only these teens have more friends than I did.

Nutty Bites: Bright – Dinner and a Movie – Dog Days of Podcasting 2018

Nutty Bites: Bright – Dinner and a Movie – Dog Days of Podcasting 2018

Nutty Bites: Bright - Dinner and a Movie - Dog Days of Podcasting 2018Netflix’s Bright was a treat. For a huge fan of Shadowrun, this was a fun flick. I think they spent a lot of budget on special effects and Will Smith. I paired this with a homemade in and out styled burger.

Nutty Bites: Ant-Man & the Wasp – Dinner and a Movie – Dog Days of Podcasting 2018

Nutty Bites: Ant Man & the Wasp – Dinner and a Movie – Dog Days of Podcasting 2018

Nutty Bites: Ant-Man & the Wasp - Dinner and a Movie - Dog Days of Podcasting 2018To kick off this year’s Dog Days of Podcasting I talk about Ant-Man & the Wasp. Paired with a picnic lunch I explain how this movie felt like some good DLC for me. A bit to add on to the movie that I loved before. I hope there is more to come and that the Wasp has more of the role in the future. Still, that cut scene, that was the best part of the whole movie honestly.
