Honeymoon! September 10, 2009

Filed under: Wedding — MoranGagnon @ 2:05 am

Italy - 104Yes after a year of marriage we FINALLY went on our honeymoon. So it was more half a honeymoon, half a one year anniversary trip and half leave… wait that makes up more then a whole… well that’s how good the trip was!

Fred and I had this planned, push off the real honeymoon till his leave from tour, since we knew he was going when we got married. This way we could go all out and afford it, also, it is much nicer for him to fly halfway and have me meet him then all the way home.

We went from Rome to Florence, to Venice, and then back to Rome. We had a blast. Sadly we did not get to visit the Ferrari factory as we would have hoped but it was just not in the cards and would have been more work then a honeymoon should ever be, instead we visited every Ferrari store in every city, yes we are that dorky 🙂

Re & Fred Wedding

So here I have once again tried to upload the video and pictures so everyone can see them. The problem is this, I don’t feel comfortable sharing images of other people without their permission with just anyone on the internet, so everything is password protected. So you can view this all my entering OUR LAST NAME into the password box. If you’re still having trouble, let me know 🙂

Finally got the video from our wedding, chopped it up here, and added some notes. It’s a bit shaky due to being filmed by Steve who found out he was filming this that morning 🙂 THANKS STEVE!!!!!

Fred, Re, Rosie & Rory

Fred, Re, Rosie & Rory

So the wedding went as planned… we are wed 🙂  We had a great time, best wedding ever, and no I am not prejudiced!  Great time had by all, will show photos and hopefully video and so on soon.  For now, we just returned from the honeymoon in the Berkshires doing absolutely nothing and loving every moment of it!

This week is moving me up to Canada, fun. Work and paperwork.  Photo editing after I arrive (and some real work too).  Then thank you cards, photobooks, photo sets and the works!

Fred and Re are back in the world now… look out!

Something old, something new, something borrowed, something blue! July 14, 2008

Filed under: Wedding — MoranGagnon @ 2:11 pm

So I have the new and blue, that would be my wedding dress, both new and blue.  Then this spring when I went to visit my grandmother I got the borrowed and old, either it is her mother’s or her grandmother’s (I forget which) wedding band to borrow and wear on the day of the wedding.  The ring is so old that the engraving is unreadable and the decoration on the outside is also worn off from time.  Well this weekend my sister offered for me to wear blue aquamarine that was given to her by my grandfather on the other side, so I also have an old borrowed and blue 🙂  It is really nice to have a little trinket from each side of my family for the day.  My mother’s parents are both long gone and my father’s father is also gone, his mother is the only surviving grandparent and she won’t be there for the wedding, so in a way I will have tokens from them all so in a way, they will be there.

Bridal Shower June 22, 2008

Filed under: Wedding — MoranGagnon @ 10:57 pm

Wedding MartiniSo yesterday was my bridal shower and it was a success to say the least. Held at my mother’s house many of my family and friends came to have A LOT of martinis and mixed drinks and LOTS of yummy food. My “it girl” handled everything so I didn’t have to stress or worry about any of it. Which was very cool.

Opening GiftsI am amazed at the generosity of my family and friends, it is wonderful. I loved everything from the party to the gifts to the cards and the notes. Kind words and well wishes are not lost on me.

I had so much fun I forgot to take pictures, luckily though my sister-in-law Catie grabbed my camera and shot away for me. You can find the pictures here: ShowerPics click on the Shower gallery and enter what kind of drinks we were having as the password (I don’t like to have pictures public on the internet, not fair to anyone but me in those pictures)

Thanks to everyone who came and sent well wishes!

moving right along June 17, 2008

A few things are done, which is good.  One, all of the US invites are out (I think) and most of the Canadian ones are out too.  Just a few people we are waiting for addresses from so there is that.  I am already recieving RSVP cards, so far four are in 🙂

Our rings arrived, I tried mine on and it fits perfectly.  They are so pretty there is only one problem, I didn’t want to take it off!  It will be interesting switching fingers for my engagement ring next month, the engagement ring is pretty big so they won’t both fit on the same finger, so there will be an adjustment 🙂

The flowers are ordered, white lilacs won’t be in season but my mother picked out something just as nice so it will all be nice.

Today I am going down to NY and my friend Mary and I (Mary who is now going by Mary-Kate and I need to remember that) are going to work on making the gum paste flowers for the cake, it is pretty exciting.

I still have a few odds and ends to do, some things I need to pick up before my fitting tomorrow but things are going well here 🙂

Coordination! and Carpooling! And Room Sharing! June 2, 2008

Filed under: Wedding — MoranGagnon @ 9:34 pm

There are a lot of out of town guests that will be coming to this wedding.  Please use this as a starting point to get together with others if you need to share a room (since some of you already know each other) or to carpool or share a rental car, again, many of you know each other.

We have folks from the west coast, the east coast, the south and all parts of Canada so please talk here!

What started this?  Well our friend Dave was asking how much it costs to bus it from Pet to NYC (Since Fred used to make the trip all the time)  I told him just over 200 for the bus, but if he hooks up with someone else coming from Pet or the area then they could carpool and save money (it takes 3-4 gas tanks from Pet to NYC and back again) so for two people it makes sense to drive it.

Please use the comments to say where you are coming from if you are looking for some ideas

Delegation of responsibility is the key to success May 27, 2008

Filed under: Wedding — MoranGagnon @ 12:20 am

Tonight I decided to ask my mother to handle the floral arrangements for me.  She would have had to go with me anyway since I suck at this stuff and she has such an eye for this.  I just don’t know when I will have to time to do it so I figured she could do it and do it better then I could.  I called her, she agreed and sent an email with the few things I need.

So yay, that is doneish.

Invitations May 26, 2008

Filed under: Wedding — MoranGagnon @ 9:11 pm

I have my printable invitations right here, I looked up the nearest Kinkos and printed out directions. I have set up a word doc and pdf of both the invitation and RSVP card. Simple but elegant IMHO. Now all I need to do is go to the store and get them printed.

I plan to do this either tomorrow or Wednesday, then the Canadian addresses will be sent from Canada and the US from the US, to make life easier on all parties.

I still have to print the blue cards informing everyone that the Bride will be wearing light blue (and to not wear that color) and the address labels, but I can do that here at home. (My mother still insists that these need to be hand addressed but if I want them sent out then I need to just run off some labels because this is getting silly. I am running out of time, and I know this is my fault as I am not the most punctual person when it comes to details like this.

If you have not sent me your address please do so immediately. I am seriously lacking on addresses and I know people are going to get mad at me over it.

Also, the non-north american invites might not go out as it seems like those people won’t be able to attend and it might come to a price issue. I am pinching all the pennies I can, but if I can, I will send them along later. It is a time and money issue, not a I don’t care about you issue.

thanx

Another Registry

Filed under: Wedding — MoranGagnon @ 9:05 pm

So it seems the women in my family got together and decided that my amazon registry was not enough, one there is not enough on there, and two there are a lot of people who don’t shop online and want to go to a store.  So I said fine and went where I was told to go.  Granted there are no Targets in Canada but that was the original problem, the only store to register with that is both in Canada and the US is sears and honestly, no.  I don’t like what they had to offer and their online side was seriously lacking for a couple who falls under the “Young Urban Blogger Type” demographic.

Anywho, here is the Target registry I am trying to link the two up so they are connected.  It should be possible considering Target is powered by Amazon.cm (According to the footer on their side) and Target.com is a partner of Amazon.com (according to Amazon.com site).  So it should work, but how to do it is a mystery.  I have a customer service ticket set up so that should work.  🙂
